Mr. Savaridas is an esteemed and well-regarded Consultant Hand and Upper Limb Surgeon, practising at NHS Forth Valley Royal Hospital, where he has had a Consultant substantive post since 2017.
He works privately at Kings Park Hospital in Stirling and Spire Shawfair Park Hospital in Edinburgh.
From his previous experience as a Lecturer at The University of Edinburgh and Clinical Director for Research and Development at NHS Forth Valley, he is a key figure in advancing orthopaedic medical research and training.

Mr. Savaridas is particularly skilled in percutaneous treatment for Dupuytren's contracture and also provides highly specialised, patient specific treatment for hand and thumb base arthritis. He has undergone extensive surgical training and offers the innovative WALANT (Wide-Awake Local Anaesthetic No Tourniquet) technique for hand and wrist surgeries. This approach has significantly improved patient outcomes, especially for finger joint replacements.
Mr. Savaridas uses minimally invasive, key-hole shoulder surgery techniques and computer assisted, navigated shoulder replacements. These procedures can also be offered without a general anaesthetic, reducing risks in particular concerns regarding stroke and cognitive decline. Mr. Savaridas is one of the few surgeons in Scotland who is trained to do this type of shoulder replacement surgery.
Due to the trauma work Mr. Savaridas regularly sees in his NHS practice, he is highly skilled in managing complex injuries of the upper extremities. Treating these patients demands an exceptional level of care and expertise to ensure they achieve the best possible outcomes.
Mr. Savaridas completed his undergraduate medical education at the University of Edinburgh in 2004. He subsequently undertook comprehensive orthopaedic surgical training in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and the Northeast of England.
His dedication to research earned him the prestigious Northeast Kreibich Research Prize in 2011, the same year he was also awarded a Doctor of Medicine (MD) higher degree from the University of Edinburgh for his work on fracture healing and bone fixation.
In 2016, Mr. Savaridas further honed his expertise by completing a Hand, Upper Limb, and Trauma Fellowship in Perth, Australia, having been awarded a British Orthopaedic Association grant. Upon return from Australia, Mr Savaridas took up his current substantive Consultant role at NHS Forth Valley.
Mr. Savaridas is known for his empathetic, and holistic approach to treatment. An avid sportsman himself, Mr. Savaridas understands the importance of maintaining physical activity for overall well-being. He continues to play hockey for Dundee Wanderers Hockey Club.

He enjoys the challenges that treating these group of highly motivated patients presents, and is dedicated to getting them back to pre-injury fitness.
Mr. Savaridas leads local delivery of several national clinical trials. He ensures that his patients have access to the best available management, guided by evolving clinical research evidence. His clinical research has been presented at national and global conferences with publications in respected orthopaedic journals. He contributes as a member of the scoring panel for the awarding of research and travel fellowships by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
He is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, and was previously the Orthopaedic Training Lead at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. His dedication to education and training ensures surgeons are evaluated and certified to the highest standards, maintaining the quality and safety of surgical practice.
Mr. Savaridas has recently been appointed as the upper limb orthopaedic In-House Clinician for the British Standards Institute (BSI).
